I serve on the Aberdeen Area Arts Council board because I feel that the arts are an integral part of the Aberdeen Area community. Even though we are located far from the major art centers of the world, the Aberdeen Area Arts Council does a wonderful job bringing world-class artists and performers to our area of the country. As an artists, I am always amazed at the creative problem solving that occurs when faced with a visual medium. I think this type of thinking can extend into every facet of society which I why I feel so strongly about arts important role in every society.
